6 Wedding Traditions You Can Totally Ditch
Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with sticking to the traditions I am about to mention, but I absolutely love it when weddings scream the personalities of the bride and groom, and that doesn't always fit in to the "traditional" standards.
Let's get into it!
#1 White dress and long veil
This one may be non-negotiable to some people, but you definitely don't have to feel confined to one color and an expensive piece of fabric on your head! Wear what makes you feel beautiful!
#2 Bouquet/garder toss
I have photographed several weddings where the bride and/or groom don't want to do this tradition at the reception, but feel like they need to. If you don't feel comfortable or don't think its important, I say ditch it!
#3 Cake
Wedding cake is as traditional as it gets, but if you aren't the biggest fan of cake, go with something you love!
#4 Wedding favors
Favors are expensive, and in my opinion, totally unnecessary. If you are stressing about the moolah, ditch 'em!
#5 Excessive paper
Another budget killer! Opt for digital save the dates and an online RSVP to save paper and postage!
#6 Matching rings
Basically, your rings don't have to match his. Get something that is true to your personality!
